School Improvement Partner Support

Ross currently works with many schools as their School Improvement Partner / School Effectiveness Partner / Quality Assurance Partner etc.

Ross provides a service which enables Headteachers to carry out regular quality assurance meetings where they set the agenda and have professional conversations with Ross about key school improvement priorities and ideas in a way that is structured to enable the client to have professional thinking time, providing them with the opportunity to engage in a strategic, challenging and supportive discussion.

Reviews of Standards

Ross has carried out many reviews of standards in schools. He has experience of carrying out reviews linked to: Quality of Education, Behaviour & Attitudes, Personal Development and Leadership & Management and the 3 I’s of: Intent, Implementation and Impact. As part of this work, Ross will carry out focused Pupil Learning Conversations and discussions with key staff such as Subject Leaders, Middle Leaders, Senior Leaders, Teachers, Support Staff and Governors to provide a comprehensive analysis and evaluation of standards at the school, making recommendations for improvement and highlighting key strengths in a written report.

Performance Management Adviser

As a former Headteacher, Ross a wealth of experience of the Performance Management process. As a consultant, Ross works with a wide range of Headteachers and Governing Boards as a Performance Management Adviser who gives independent advice and support to all parties as part of the annual appraisal process for Headteachers.

Subject Leadership Development

Ross has worked with many subject leaders and developed their approach to their role. The role of Subject Leader and the expectations placed upon them has changed considerably over the last few years, particularly since the introduction of the Education Inspection Framework in September 2019.

Ross has worked with many Subject Leaders and supported them to increase their knowledge, skills and understanding of the role. Ross is currently working with several schools focusing on subject leadership and the expectations that Ofsted have of Subject Leaders. As part of his work in this area, Ross has worked with schools to develop their curriculum offer, ensuring that it meets all statutory requirements whilst providing a rich and enjoyable learning experience for all pupils.

Senior Leadership Support

With 15 years of leadership experience, with just under 10 of these being in Headship Ross uses all this experience when supporting Headteachers, Deputy Headteachers and other Senior Leaders in a range of primary schools.

Ross has worked with Senior Leaders on a wide range of School Improvement areas since becoming an independent consultant such as:

Data Analysis & Summary Reports

Ross is very experienced in analysing and using data to drive school improvement planning. In addition to this, he will prepare clear and concise summary reports that can be used to explain data and associated information to staff, governors etc.

Governance Support

Ross has worked with a wide range of Governing Boards as a consultant and a Headteacher, with a track record of improving governance. Ross works with the National Governance Association as an independent consultant and delivers a nationally recognised Chairs’ Development Programme for the NGA.
